Matthew: Ah, yes, the Femme Fatale! If you've been reading "Detective Space Cat" diligently since we launched, you may have wondered at what point we get the plot rolling. This would be it. While we're still going to be serialized week to week and the strips are still written to be read by themselves without any specific foreknowledge, this is the point where we confirm two things: a) no, this isn't just a story about a cat on space drugs meandering about a crap city and b) yes, we will be playing off familiar-enough noir territory as the story progresses. While we don't necessarily want to over-rely on genre tropes, you will notice that we do have a few staples in -- the first of which is the introduction of the above femme fatale, or "the Dame" as we affectionately call her.
Who is she? What does she want? Does she seal her kisses... with a bullet? These questions and more will be answered... soon!
Colin: I am near broken-hearted to say that the mailbag was empty this week, and so we received no fan-art to share with you today. So to tide you over, I made you all MY interpretation of Space. I believe it's what those in the know call "a mixed media collage."
